The Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is the clearing house for all state legislation, both existing and proposed, to be reviewed and vetted by a group of interested builders and other members to determine its impact on the residential construction industry and the association’s position on each bill.
The committee also proposes new legislation to address current issues members face in their businesses.
The Government Affairs Committee meets at each Board Meeting and weekly during the state’s “40-day” Legislative Session.
GAC Leadership is comprised of HBAG’s First Vice Chair (GAC Chairman) and the Vice President/Treasurer (GAC Vice Chairman).
Committee members are appointed by the HBAG President and confirmed by their respective local HBA.
